Western Region has registered huge 95 runs victory against Central Region in the ongoing 1st Prime Minister Cup Cricket Tournament at TU International Cricket Ground on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.
This is the first win for Western Region as it had lost to Armed Police Force by 16 runs in its inaugural match under Group A on Monday while this is first defeat for Central Region.
Central Region had shared a point each with Mid-Western Region as the match was interrupted by rain on Tuesday.
In the match held at TU International Cricket Ground today, Western Region made 202 runs for the loss of eight wickets in allotted 50 overs.
Saurav Khanal shined in today’s match he contributed a half-century with 78 runs while Antim Thapa scored 34 runs, Anil Gurung 28 runs, Bidhan Shrestha 18 runs and Krishna karki 15 runs. Player of the match Khanal had also scored 90 runs against APF.
Kishore Mahato claimed three wickets while Nandan Yadav took two wickets. Hari Shankar Shah and Sashi Kesari also took a wicket each for Central Region.
While chasing the target, Central Region was restricted just to 107 runs in 40.3 overs as Western Region’s Lal Adhikari and Rohit Kumar Paudel grabbed three wickets each while Bipin Khatri took two wickets.
Ishan Pandey scored 24 runs, Mahato 20 runs, Ramsaad Alam 15 runs and Sumit Maharjarn 10 runs for Central Region.

Group B - Tribhuvan Army Club, Eastern Region, Far-western Region, Nepal Police Club
The winner of the tournament will bag Rs 2 million while the runner-up will get Rs 1 million. Similarly, the two semi-finalists will receive Rs 50,000 each.
The man of the series will be awarded with Rs 100,000 while best batsman and bowler will get Rs 50,000 each. Likewise, the emerging player will get Rs 25,000 while man-of-the-match will be given Rs 5,000 in every match.
