Western Region has finished third in the 2nd Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) National Men’s Volleyball Tournament on Thursday, January 26, 2017.
In the match held at Army Covered Hall, Lagankhel, Lalitpur, Western Region dominated Armed Police Force (APF) 3-2 to secured third place at the tournament.
Western region had led the match through 25-22 win in first set. But APF equalised the match 1-1 after 25-22 win in second set. Similarly, Western Region registered 25-17 win in third set but again it was 29-27 win for APF in fourth set.
Then the match was forced for fifth set where Western Region registered 15-13 close win over APF to finish third in the tournament.
Host Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club are set to vie for the title of the tournament on Friday, January 27, 2017.
Altogether, eight teams - three departmental teams – Army, Police, APF and five development regions - Western Region, Eastern Region, Central Region, Far-West and Mid-West were in the title fray in the beginning.
The winner team will bag Rs 300,000 while runner-up will receive Rs 150,000 and third place Rs 75,000.
