Tokha Municipality has lifted the title of the 1st Kathmandu Valley Inter Municipality Football on Sunday, June 11, 2017.
Tokha defeated Chandragiri Municipality 5-3 in the final to clinch the title of the knock-out football tournament held at Dasharath Stadium, today.
Though Chandragiri had led the match by 3-0 in the first half though a hat-trick of Rujit Pudasaini, Tokha managed to score five goals in the second half. Trilok Dura scored two goals while Ashich Dongol, Anil Thapa and Bijay Shrestha contributed a goal each for winner.
Meanwhile, Kirtipur finished third defeating Nagarjuna 2-0. The tournament was organised by Kathmandu Municipality under the management of Kathmandu District Sports Development Committee.
With the title, Tokha bagged Rs 111,111 while runner-up Chandragiri received Rs 51,125 and third place Kirtipur got Rs 25, 15.
Chandragiri’s Pudasaini was announced the player of the tournament. He received Rs 10,000. Similarly, Tokha’s goalkeeper Nabin Shrestha, defender Gobinda Rimal, forward Ashich Dongol and Chandragiri’s coach Ramesh Bista were awarded the best for their positions. They all got Rs 5,000 each.
