Police have arrested Dhal Bahadur Khadka, 43, after 18 years for his involvement in the murder of Father Thomas E. Gaffney, 65, the founder of St. Xavier’s School.
The police deployed from Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Hanuman Dhoka, detained Khadka from Kakkadvitta on Monday morning, April 20, 2015, according to Police.
Khadka who originally hails from Phasku-8, Dolkha district, had fled to India steeling Rs 22,000 after the murder, according to Police investigation.
As per the investigation, Khadka killed Fr. Gaffney with a Khukuri (Nepali Knife) by stabbing him twice in the neck as Gaffney denied to pay his remuneration.
American national Fr. Gaffney was murdered in Lalitpur district on December 13, 1997.
Khada was a domestic help to Fr. Gaffney at his residence in Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur.
Khadka has been sent to Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur for further legal action, said Police on Tuesday.
