The first edition of Srijana Invitational Women’s and Men’s National Volleyball Championship 2073 has kicked off at Pokhara Stadium, Pokhara, Kaski district, on Saturday, February 4, 2017.
Chief Guest CA member Rabindra Adhikari formally inaugurated the tournament by handing volleyball to referee Narayan Bahadur Bhandari amidst an inaugural function.
In the inaugural match, Tribuvan Army Club (TAC) defeated Armed Police Force (APF) team in 23-19, 29-27, 25-21 straight sets to make a flying start in the tournament.
Altogether, six each women and men teams – five from Nepal and from India – will are in the title fray. The final is set for February 11.
The winner of the tournament will bag Rs 155,555 and runner-up will receive Rs 77,777 as cash prize and the third place will get Rs 33,333 along with the trophies and medals.
Western Region Sports Development Committee has organised the Championship with the technical support of Kaski District Sports Development Committee on the main sponsorship of Srijana Development Center.
The organiser has also fixed the ticket price at Rs 100 for initial phase games, Rs 150 for semi-final round and Rs 200 for final.
The event is supported by Nepal Volleyball Association along with Western Region Volleyball Association and District Volleyball Association, Kaski.
