A diplomat from Saudi Arabia is accused of raping and torturing two Nepali women who worked at his residence in Gurgaon, Delhi, India.
Indian Police on Monday rescued the two women from an apartment in Gurgaon following the info provided by a local NGO, according to the Indian media reports.
The rescued women said that they were raped and tortured every night, according to Indian media.
Indian Police are under investigation regarding the case. Though the name of the accused has not been revealed, he is identified as the first secretary at the Saudi Embassy.
One of the rescued woman aged 30-year is from Baglung district while other aged around 50-year is from Morang district of Nepal. The women were sold to an Indian agent then to the Saudi diplomat, reports.
The women were taken to Saudi Arabia where they stayed 15 days before being brought to India three months ago, according to the victims.
After the household works, the women had to face group sexual assaults and rape at night, said the victims.
India has also asked the Saudi Arabia Embassy to cooperate with the investigation regarding the case. The accused diplomat was also called to the foreign ministry office for statement.
However, Saudi Arabian Embassy in India has denied the allegations filed against its one of the senior diplomats.
The Nepali Embassy has also knocked the door of the Ministry External Affairs (MEA) for supports in the case.
Meanwhile, Nepali Ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyaya had said “We are not fully aware about involvement of any diplomat. When we will be informed, then we will go for it. It is a very, very sensitive case and we are getting full support from the MEA and local police.”
