CMG Sankata Club and Nepal Army will vie for the title of the Lalit Memorial U-18 Championship at the ANFA Complex on Monday afternoon at 3pm, June 12, 2017.
Sankata has advanced to the final after 4-2 win over Friends’ Club while Nepal Army thrashed its departmental rival Nepal Police Club 4-0 in the semi-final round held at ANFA Complex on Saturday.
Sankata won in penalty-shootout as the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Ranjit Gurung scored for Sankata in the 42nd minute while Sumit Chohan Magar leveled the score in the 47th minute in regular timeframe.
As the match was forced for penalties, Nabin Gurung, Dipesh Ale Magar, Devraj Tamang and Ranjit Gurung scored for Sankata. Sagar Thapa missed target.
Nishan Thapa and Dikshit Thapa made it through the post for Friends’ while Rumesh Bartaula and Aashish KC failed to score.
In another semi-final, Army’s dominated Police through a hat-trick of Dinesh Yonzon and Prizen Tamang. Yonzon scored an opening goal in the 15th minute and doubled the tally in the 44th minute. He made 3-0 in the 72nd minute and Tamang added another in the 88th minute.
Army’s Roman Limbu was red carded in the 74th minute.
