Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) has defeated Eastern Region by nine wickets to make a flying start at the 1st Prime Minister Cup Cricket Tournament held at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.
Player of the match Sagar Pun claimed alone grabbed five wickets and contributed 40 runs for Army’s win. Similarly, Anil Kumar Mandal made a half-century with 56 runs against the target of 104 runs posted by Eastern Region.
Mehaboob Alam and Bidhan Goswami were the two batsmen to make double digit score with 36 runs and 19 runs for Eastern Region. Sushan Bhari and Sompal Kami were other bowlers to stand strong against Eastern as they took three wickets and two wickets for winner.
While chasing the target, Army scored 107 runs with the loss of a wicket in 18.4 overs. Alam claimed a consolation wicket for Eastern Region.

Group A - Armed Police Force (APF), Western Region, Central Region, Mid-western Region
Group B - Tribhuvan Army Club, Eastern Region, Far-western Region, Nepal Police Club
The winner of the tournament will bag Rs 2 million while the runner-up will get Rs 1 million. Similarly, the two semi-finalists will receive Rs 50,000 each.
The man of the series will be awarded with Rs 100,000 while best batsman and bowler will get Rs 50,000 each. Likewise, the emerging player will get Rs 25,000 while man-of-the-match will be given Rs 5,000 in every match.
