Rupandehi XI has won the title of the 4th Udaypur Gold Cup on Thursday, February 16, 2017.
Rupandehi won the match by 4-3 in tie-breaker as the match ended goalless draw in the regulaton time. Subash Magar, Buddha Chemjong, Uttam Gurung and Dilip Chettri scored for winner while Niraj Basnet, Buddiman rai and bikasah Khawas scored for Morang.
With the title, Rupandehi bagged Rs 200,000 while runner-up Morang got Rs 100,000 as cash prizes. Peter was adjudged the man of the match in the final. He got Rs 5,000.
All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Narendra Shrestha distributed the prizes to the winners amidst a function.
Rupandehi XI had beaten Himalayan Sherpa Club 3-2 while Morang XI Football Club defeated Sankata Club 2-1 in the semi-finals to enter final of the tournament.
Altogether, eight teams – Armed Police Force, Sankata Club, Dharan Football Club, Himalayan Sherpa Club, Morang Football Club, Jhapa XI, Rupandehi XI and host Udaypur – had competed in the tournament.
