Rupandehi Challengers has continued its winning streak defeating Sarad Vesawkar’s Biratnagar Kings by 61 runs to register fourth consecutive victory in the ongoing Sagarmatha Cement Dhangadi Premier League (DPL) T-20 Cricket at SSP Ground, Dhangadhi on Sunday, April 16, 2017.
Shakti Gauchan’s Rupandehi Challengers beat Sagar Pun’s Kanchanpur ICONIC by 14 runs, Gyanendra Malla’s CYC Attariya by 42 and Basant Regmi’s Kathmandu Goldens by 15 runs.
Rupandehi Challengers is at the top of the score chart with 8 points with one match in hand, followed by Biratnagar Kings which has 6 points from five matches.
Similarly, Kathmandu Goldens, Kanchanpur ICONIC and CYC Attariya are at the third, fourth and fifth spots with 4 points each, respectively while Dhangadi Team Chauraha is at the bottom of the League’s table with 2 points.
In the 13th match played today, leader Rupandehi restricted Biratnagar Kings just to 71 runs in 18.1 overs against the target of 133 runs. Player of the match Shahab Alam alone claimed four wickets while Karki and Dipesh Shrestha grabbed three wickets each for winner.
Antim Thapa had scored 45 runs, Krishna Karki 22 runs, Puspa Thapa 17 runs and Harishankar Shah 14 runs to total 132 runs with the loss of eight wickets in allotted 20 overs. Dipendra Singh Airee and Sushil Kandel took two wickets each for Biratnagar.
Skipper Vesawkar was the only double digit scorer for Biratnagar as he made 34 runs off 47 balls.
Meanwhile, Kanchanpur ICONIC thrashed CYC Attariya by six wickets in another match of the day (14th match of DPL).
CYC Attariya was restricted just to 85 runs during their inning as Avinash Karn and Sunil Dhamala took three wickets each for Kanchanpur. Similarly, skipper Sagar Pun, Aashish Pokhrel and Chandra Sawad also contributed a wicket each for winner.
Pradeep Airee scored 19 runs, Gyanendra Kuwar 15 runs, Dilip Nath 11 runs and Surendra Chand 10 runs for CYC Attariya.
In return, Kanchapur easily chased down the target of 86 runs scoring 90 runs for the loss of four wickets in 10 overs. Player of the match Dhamala scored highest 28 runs off 20 balls while Pun and Hasim Ansari both made 22 runs and Binod Bhandari 16 runs. Binod Lama had claimed two consolation wickets for CYC Attariya.
