Rupandehi Challengers has faced humiliating 100 runs defeat against mighty Kathmandu Goldens in the 12th match of the ongoing third edition of Dhangadhi Premier League (DPL-3) on Sunday, February 17, 2019.
Rupandehi was restricted just to 33 runs in 15.1 overs against the target of 134 runs. Nandan Yadav grabbed three wickets while Lalit Rajbanshi and Surya Tamang claimed two wickets each for Khathmandu Goldens. Ankit Dabas and Yogendra Singh Karki also took a wicket each. None of the batsmen could make double digit score for Rupandehi.
The player of the match Dabas scored highest 43 runs while Anil Sah contributed 23 runs, Rashaid Khan 14 runs, Karki 13 runs, captain Gyanendra Malla 12 runs and Mahaboob Alam 11 runs to total 133 runs losing seven wickets in allotted 20 overs for Goldens. Bikram Sob, Puneet Mehra and Anil Kharel took two wickets each for Rupandehi.
Kathmandu Goldens, which is at the top of the score chart with 7 points, has already advanced to the playoffs on Saturday while Rupandehi is in the third spot with 4 points.
In another match of the day, Mahendranagar United defeated CYC Attariya by seven wickets in the reduced match of 6 overs due to rain. With the win, Mahendranagar is in the fourth spot with 4 points with meager hope for playoffs. Mahendranagar has to wait for two results between CYC Attariya against Biratnagar Vs and Goldens for its fate to next round.
Mahendranagar met the target of 55 runs for the loss of three wickets in 5.4 overs. Subramanian Anand scored 17 runs and Aarif Seikh 15 runs. Sunny Patel scored 19 runs, Jaykishan Kolsawala and Dipendra Singh Airee made 10 runs each for Attariya. Abinash Bohara and Sagar Dhakal claimed two wickets each for Mahendranagar.
