Railway Team India has defended the title of the 4th Prime Minister Indo-Nepal Women’s Volleyball Championship 2017 on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
Railway India defeated Armed Police Force (APF) team in the final match for the second title with 27-25, 25-17, 25-22 scores to clinch the title of the tournament held at Nepalgunj Covered Hall. APF had also lost to Railway in last edition's final match.
Similarly, Nepal Police Club (NPC) team beat Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) team 3-1 in the third place match. It registered 25-18, 25-15, 25-23 in the first, third and fourth sets over Army to secured third place. Army had won the second set with 25-20.
The winner Railway bagged Rs 111,000 while runner-up APF received Rs 55,000 and third place Police team Rs 35,000.
Railway’s Anushree Gosh won the best player of the tournament. She was rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
Altogether six teams were in the title fray - Railway India, Nepal Police, host Mid-Western Region in Group A while APF, Tribhuvan Army Club, Barsat Association in Group B.
