Nepal Police Club (NPC) has clinched the title of the 2nd Pathibhara National Men’s Volleyball Tournament in Taplejung, on Saturday, February 18, 2017.
In the final match, Police team defeated Nepal Army team 3-2 to lift the title of the tournament. Though Army had dominated in the first set with 25-19, Police won in the second and third sets with 25-15 and 25-20, respectively.
The match was forced for fifth set, after 22-20 win of Army in the fourth set. Police was successful to win the last set with 15-11.
Police team accumulated 12 points while Army team got 9 points from the played four matches.
Similarly, Armed Police Forced (APF) finished third with 6 points after defeating Eastern Region 25-13, 25-18, 25-8. Eastern Region was fourth in the tournament with 2 points.
The winner Police team bagged the cash prize of Rs 330,000 while runner-up Army received Rs 165,000 along with trophies and medals.
The two semi-finalist teams – APF and Eastern Region also got Rs 35,000 each and best player from Police Kul Bahadur Thapa awarded with Rs 10,000.
The tournament is organisd by Taplejung District Volleyball Association.
Altogehter, eight teams including - three departmental teams - Nepal Police, Army and Armed Police Force and teams from five development regions had competed in the fournament.
