Pokhara, a beautiful tourism city in west, will host Women’s and Men’s National Volleyball Championship at Pokhara Rangashala, from January 31 to February 4, 2017.
The League-cum-knockout tournament will feature both Women’s and Men’s teams from – the departmental teams Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, New Diamond Academy, Help Nepal Sports Club and host Western Region Volleyball Association, informed Western Sports Development Committee Chairman Khag Raj Poudel at the press conference in Pokhara, on Sunday, January 8, 2017.
Western Region Sports Development Committee is organising the five-day Championship with the technical support of Kaski District Sports Development Committee on the main sponsorship of Srijana Development Center.
On the occasion, Western Region Sports Development Committee’s Chairman Poudel and Srijana Development Center’s Chairman Arjun Shrestha signed a sponsorship deal of Rs 700,000.
The winner of the tournament will get Rs 155,555 and runner-up will receive Rs 77,777 as cash prize.
The Committee has collected total Rs 2.5 million for the tournament. The estimated expenditure for the tournament is around Rs 1.8 million, according to the organiser.
The remaining budget from the tournament would be utilised in the development of training center, said Poudel.
The organiser has also fixed the ticket price at Rs 100 for initial phases, Rs 150 for semi-final round and Rs 200 for final.
The event is supported by Nepal Volleyball Association along with Western Region Volleyball Association and District Volleyball Association, Kaski.
