Prime Minister Cup Women’s National Cricket Tournament is all set to be held in Itahari, Sunsari, from Friday, March 3, 2017.
Altogether, six teams from - five development region and Armed Police Force (APF) team – will compete in the league-cum-knockout tournament, informed Kailash Bista, chairman of Itahari Cricket Academy. The tournament is being organised by Itahari Cricket Academy.
The teams are divided into two groups – Group A includes APF, Mid-Western Region and Western region while Eastern Region, Central Region and Far-Western Region are in Group B.
The winners and runner-ups of both the groups will make it to the semis of the tournament.
The winner of the tournament will win Rs 100,000 while runner-up will get Rs 50,000, said Bista. The best player of the tournament will be rewarded with Rs 10,000 while best batsman and bowler will receive Rs 5,000 each, he added.
“All the participating teams are provided preparation assistance of Rs 50,000. The total estimated cost of the tournament is Rs 2.5 million.”
Eastern Region is set to take on Central Region in the inaugural match and Mid-Western will face Western Region on another match of the day. The matches will be held at DVM Global School Cricket Ground.
