Pentagon International College has lifted the title of the 1st Inter-College Super Cup that concluded in Kathmandu on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.
In the final match Ultimate Indoor Cricket’s court in Koteshowar, Pentagon defeated Rajarshi College by 13 runs to secure victory.
As Pentagon elected to bat first, it scored total 129 runs in allotted 18 overs Super-Game as Dipendra mainali scored 26 runs and Naresh Budayer 21 runs while Dipendra Mainali took a wicket. Mainali was also adjudged man of the match.
While chasing the target, Rajarshi was restricted to 116 runs. Arun Airee scored 20 runs and Sudarshan Joshi 16 runs while Airee’s three wickets went in vain after a loss.
Pentagon had reached final defeating Triton International College as Triton forfeited the match in the middle of the first innings. Pentagon had scored 184 runs in 17.2 overs.
Similarly, Rajarshi beat Kathmandu College of Management (KCM) by 32 runs to make it to final. Rajarshi scored 161 runs against 129 runs of KCM.
The winner Pentagon bagged Rs 100,000 as cash prize along with the trophies and certificates.
Dipendra Mainali of Pentagon was adjudged player of the series while Naresh Budayer of Pentagon won the best batman award and Prakash Bista of Kaustuv best bowler award.
Mainali got cash reward of Rs 10,000 while Budayer and Bista received Rs 5,000 each.
The tournament was jointly organised by Ultimate Indoor Cricket and Panda events. Altogether, 16 teams had competed in the six-day tournament.
