National Cricket Team's captain Paras Khadka has shined in South Africa as he gave a magnificent performance in the practice match against Eastern Invitation on Monday, January 12, 2015.
Khaka scored 123 runs and claimed three wickets to secure seven wickets victory against Eastern Invitation in the third practice match prior to ICC WCL Division 2 scheduled to be held in Namibia from January 15 to 25, 2015.
Khadka's a century had helped Nepal to chase the target of 257 runs at the loss of three wickets in 46.2 overs. Khadka had made 15 fours and two sixes.
Similarly, Sarad Veswakar had contributed 21 runs for winner, according to Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
In the first inning, Eastern Invitation had scored 156 runs losing all its wickets in 48.3 overs. Khadka took three wickets while Sompal Kami, Karan KC and Shakti Gaucha claimed two wickets each.
National Cricket Team had left for South Africa to play three practice matches on Wednesday, January 7, 2015.
Nepal along with host Namibia, Canada, Kenya, the Netherlands and Uganda will compete in the ICC WCL Division 2.
National Cricket Team’s head coach Pubudu Dassanayake said that he was pretty confident to give best in the ICC WCL Division 2 in Namibia.
The team has improved physically and mentally in its fielding, batting and bowling during the last four months of training, said coach Dassanayake at the farewell programme in Kathmandu before leaving to South Africa.
The government on December 24, 2014, had also announced the cash reward of Rs 1 million each to the players, coach and officials, if it win the tournament.
