National Sports Council (NSC) is all set to organise the National Women's Cricket Championship at Tribhuvan University (TU) Cricket Ground in Kirtipur from July 23 to 26, 2016.
The championship is organised with an aim to select players for the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifiers, Asia that is scheduled for October 9 to 15, 2016 at the Tin Kwong Recreation Ground in Hong Kong, according to host NSC.
Altogether, six teams including – Armed Police Force (APF), Central Development Region, Mid-Western Development Region, Eastern Development Region, Western Development Region and Far-Western Development Region are competing in the tournament.
The Cricket Coordination Committee under NSC will select 24-best players from the tournament. The players will be kept in closed camp as soon as the selection will be completed, according to NSC.
The winner team will bag Rs 100,000 while runner-up will get Rs 50,000. The estimated cost for organising the tournament is Rs 2 million.
