The National Sports Council (NSC) has given all the responsibilities of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to its CEO Bhawana Ghimire until the next decision on Monday, December 21, 2015.
In a letter sent to Ghimire, NSC has directed her to conduct the daily responsibilities of the apex body of Nepali cricket in coordination with international cricket bodies – International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
Ghimire confirmed that she has already received the letter from NSC.
The council has directed Ghimire to proceed on the day-to-day responsibilities after the four-year tenure of Tanka Angbuhang expired.
On the other hand, NSC has not given legal approval to the newly elected committee under the chairmanship of Chatur Bahadur Chand.
Chand’s faction had organised the association’s general assembly against NSC and Aungbuhang decisions on December 14, 2015.
The general assembly was as per the provision of CAN, said Chand. As the committee is formed legally as per the provision of the association, no one has right to interfere it, he added.
