Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has stopped providing aviation fuel to international aircraft from Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
Issuing a notice today, the state oil monopoly has announced to halt the supply of aviation fuel following the Nepal-India border blockade by India. The international aircrafts are asked to manage the fuel by themselves.
However, the oil monopoly will provide fuel for emergency cases and Nepali aircrafts at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
Meanwhile, the government has been mulling to import fuel from other countries via air. The government has also requested China to provide fuel in the case of shortage.
The reserved fuel would last at least a month for domestic purpose. The domestic airlines need around 50,000 litres daily.
