New Diamond Academy and Armed Police Force (APF) are set to take on each other in the title of the third edition of Didi-Bahini Cup National Women’s Volleyball Championship 2019 on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
In the first semi-final match held in Kusma Bazar, Parbat, on Tuesday, New Diamond defeated Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) by 3-2 to make it to the semis berth. Though Army had led the match in the first two sets 25-17, 26-24, New Diamond made a comeback in remaining three sets 25-18, 25-22, 17-15 to make the match in its side.
Army’s Women had beat Gandaki Province 25-22, 25-18, 25-22 straight sets to enter the semis today while New Diamond Academy thrashed Nepal Police Club (NPC) 25-14, 25-20, 25-15 to advance to the semi-final of the Championship on Monday.
APF Women defeated its departmental mate NPC 3-0 to set final clash with New Diamond Academy in another semis match. APF has secured 25-14, 25-16, 25-18 straight sets win over Police.
The departmental teams – Nepal Police and Nepal Army will meet each other for third place of the Championship before final match on Wednesday.
Altogether five teams including three departmental teams – Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Armed Police Force along with New Diamond Academy and Gandaki Province – are competing in the three-day tournament.
The winner prize money is set at Rs 200,000 while runner-up is fixed at Rs 100,000 and third place prize is Rs 50,000. The best player of the tournament will receive Rs 10,000. Similarly, in personal category under best spike, best quicker, best server, best center, best defender and best coach are also set to get Rs 5,000 each.
