Nepal women’s football striker Sabitra Bhandari has won the highest goal scorer award at the Hero Women’s Gold Cup Football Tournament held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India, on Friday, February 15, 2019.
Bhandari along with winner Myanmar’s Yee Yee Oo had scored four goals each. They jointly accepted and shared the award of IRs 100,000 amidst a concluding ceremony. Bhandari had netted two goals each against hosts India and Iran.
Nepal had defeated India 2-1 and Iran 3-0 while lost to Myanmar 3-0 in the league round. Similarly, Nepal lost to Myanmar 3-1 in the final match to finish second at the tournament.
