Nepal Police Club (NPC) has clinched the title of the Khukuri Devibas Super 8’S at TU International Cricket Ground on Saturday, April 1, 2017.In the competitive final match, Nepal Police beat Tip Top by three wickets to lift the title. Police met the target of 79 runs in 6.4 overs with the loss of five wickets.
Shankar Rana scored highest 32 runs while Kushal Bhurtel contributed 20 runs and Yogendra Kakri 8 runs for winner. Prakash Bista had claimed three wickets for Tip Top.
Tip Top had made 78 runs in allotted seven overs match after winning the toss. Subhendu Pandey made 26 runs, Prashanna Shakya 24 runs and Sandeep Jora 13 runs. Manjeet Shrestha grabbed three wickets while Kushal Bhurtel took two wickets for Police.
NPC had defeated Strom Brand Activation by 8 runs while Tip Top won over Nagarjuna by 2 runs in their semis berth held today morning.
With the title, Police bagged Rs 100,000 while runner-up Tip Top has to satisfy for Rs 50,000.
Manjeet Shrestha of NPC was adjudged the man of the series while Sonu Tamang best batsman and Lalit Rajbanshi best bowler. Shrestha got Rs 20,000 while Tamang and Rajbanshi received Rs 10,000 each.
Altogether 12 teams had competed in the five-day tournament - Nepal Police Club, Nagarjuna Cricket Club, Tip Top, KBH Nepal, VM Warriors, Nepal Sports Journalist Forum, DAV, MIS, Storm Brand, Lord Buddha Cricket Club, Today’s Telegram and Tikapur Cricket.
The event was jointly organised by Khukuri ENT and Devibas Events and Media Pvt. Ltd.
