Nepal has lost against India by seven wickets in its last group stage match of the ICC U-19 World Cup held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Monday, February 1, 2016.
In the first inning, Nepal scored total 169 runs losing eight wickets. Sandip Sunar scored 37 runs, Rajbir Singh 35 runs and Prem Tamang 29 runs. India’s Avesh Khan grabbed three wickets each, MJ Dagar and Washington Sundar took two wickets each.
India easily chased the target in 18.1 overs as Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan scored a half-century each with 78 and 52 runs respectively. Prem Tamang claimed two wickets while Sandip Lamichhane took a wicket for Nepal.
With the win, India has topped Group D while Nepal finished runner-up. Both the teams had already advanced to the quarter-final of the tournament after winning their two group stage matches against New Zealand and Ireland.
