Nepal has finished second in the Hero Women’s Gold Cup Football Tournament that concluded at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India, on Friday, February 15, 2019.
In the final, Nepal lost to Myanmar 3-1 to end-up as runner-up of the tournament. Though the match was equal in the first half, Myanmar added another two goals in the second half to win the title.
Yee Yee Oo had scored an opener in the 35th minute for Myanmar while Nepal equalised the score in the 45th minute of the first half. Then Win Theingi Tun scored another goal in the 53rd minute and Yee Yee Oo scored her second in the 63rd minute to make 3-1 win.
Nepal had defeated host India 2-1 and Iran 3-0 while lost against Myanmar 3-0. Similarly, Powerful Myanmar won all its matches during the tournament.
With the title, Myanmar bagged Rs 1,120,000 while Nepal had to satisfy for Rs 800,000 as runner-up.
