Nepal has lost to Hong Kong by five wickets under Group A in the ICC World T20 Qualifiers held at Stormont, Belfast, in Northern Ireland on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.
As Nepal was on batting first after losing a toss, it scored total 109 runs in allotted 20 overs. Sharad Vesawkar scored 27 runs while Rajesh Pulami contributed 25 runs and Sompal Kami 16 runs. Similarly, Sagar Pun and Basant Regmi made 11 runs each.
Haseeb Amjad claimed four wickets while Irfam Ahmed took two wickets for Hong Kong.
In return, Hong Kong met the target at 19.1 overs with the loss of five wickets as Najakat Khan scored 25 runs, Anshuman Rath 19 runs, Babar Hayat 17 runs, Aizaz Khan 14 runs and Kinchit Shah 12 runs. Regmi grabbed four wickets for Nepal.
After a loss to Hong Kong Nepal has pushed down to fifth position with 3 points under Group A, behind HK.
Now, Nepal has to win both the matches against Papua New Guinea and Jersey. Similarly, it has to wait for the results of the other matches to make it through the Qualifiers.
