Nepal has lost by 37 runs against World XI in the T20 charity match “Bat for Nepal” held at Kinrara Oval, Malaysia on Sunday, August 9, 2015.
As Sanath Jayasuriya chose to bat first after winning the toss in front of good crowd, World XI scored total 135 runs in 19.4 overs. Marcus Stoinis scored 48 runs, Venugopal Rao 23 runs, Ahmed Faiz 18 runs and Abdur Razzak 16 runs for winner.
While chasing the target, Nepal XI was bundled out at 19.2 overs for 98 runs. Anil Mandal and Raju Rijal scored 17 runs each while Naresh Budayair and Siddhant Lohanni made 13 runs each. Similarly, Sarad Veswkar and Mahaboob Alam contributed 11 runs each.
Suresh Navaratnam claimed three wickets while Abdur Razzak and Jayasuriya took two wickets each.
The match was organised by the Malaysian Cricket Association to raise money to aid Nepal’s rebuilding process. The aftermath of the April 25 massive earthquake had damaged Nepal.
