Nepal has promoted its latest tourism development at the Travel Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata 2015 – India's largest tourism fair-in Kolkata, India from July 31 to August 2, 2015.
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) along with six co-exhibitors disseminated information about the present scenario of tourism and possibilities.
Nepal also hosted the press conference among the media representatives based in Kolkota including Hindustan Times, The Hindu, The Asian Age and regional television channels amongst others during the event following the wide-spread negative publicity following the 25/4 earthquake that reduced arrivals to almost half.
Offering premium to budget tours, Nepal stall thematically highlighted products like cultural/pilgrimage tours and adventure clusters with destination information to around 8000 visitors.
As a part of recovery plan, NTB has been supporting and highlighting a series of programmes like talk shows, musical events, media tours and consumer programmes catering to Kolkata and suburbs which has a population of more than 14 millions most of whom take one holiday at least once a year and enter Nepal via Raxual or Bhairahawa while some prefer flying to Kathmandu by Air India- the only flight connecting Kolkata with Kathmandu.
