Nepal has made it to the semi-finals of the ongoing ACC U-19 Asia Cup in Malaysia, on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.
Nepal entered the semis berth after Bangladesh defeated defending champion Indian by eight wickets. Despite winning the two matches against India by 19 runs on Sunday and host Malaysia by eight wickets on Tuesday, its fortune for the semis berth was uncertain due to net run rate.
Nepal finished second in Group A, behind leader Bangladesh. Bangladesh won all the played three matches accumulating total 6 points.
Now, Nepal will take on Group B winner on November 17 in the second semi-final match while Bangladesh will face Pakistan on November 16.
The team’s head coach Binod Das praised the team for its wonderful performance and its hard work after reaching the semi-finals.
Das said that the team played as per the plan though it did not go well in bowling before the spinners. The batting part was as per the plan, he added.
“Semifinal against Afghanistan will be tough.” However, he expressed to give best against Afghanistan during the match.
