Nepal has entered the semi-final of the ongoing SAFF Championship 2018 beating the host Bangladesh 2-0 held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
Bimal Gharti Magar and Nawayug Shrestha scored a goal each for Nepal’s win. Magar scored an opening goal in the 33rd minute through a free kick while Shrestha doubled the tally to seal a victory in the 90th minute.
Though Nepal had lost its first match against Pakistan 2-1, it made a comeback after thrashing Bhutan 4-0 and Bangladesh 2-0 at the Championship.
Nepal made it to the last four in the semis with a Group A winner with 6 points while Pakistan finished second in the group stage match. India is at the top of Group B, followed by Maldives. Nepal will take on Maldives in the first semis on September 12 while India will face Pakistan in another semi-final.
