Nepal has announced the 18-member final squad for the ICC World Cricket League Championship 2017 match against Hong Kong on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.
However, the Selection Committee is yet to decide the final 14 players and four reserve players. The match is scheduled for October 13 and 15, 2017 in Mission Road Ground, Mong Kok.
The Selection Committee headed by Jagat Tamatta (Head Coach) and Paras Khadka (Captain), has announced the players comprising - Paras Khadka (Captain), Gyanendra Malla, Sharad Vesawkar, Basant Regmi, Mahaboob Alam, Sompal Kami, Sagar Pun, Binod Bhandari, Karan KC, Jitendra Kumar Mukhiya, Sushil Kandel, Kushal Bhurtel, Lalit Bhandari, Sushan Bhari, Naresh Bahadur Budhayer, Md. Arif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airee and Sandeep Lamichhane.
Nepal is at the sixth spot with 8 points in the Championship’s table. Nepal has won four matches and lost six matches of the played 10 matches. In its previous encounters, Nepal two matches each against Scotland and PNG while it defeated Namibia in both the matches. Nepal had to share points with Netherland and Kenya as both the team faced a defeat each and also defeated Nepal.
Nepal has pressure to defeat Hong Kong to make it to the next level - 2019 World Cup Qualifiers as only top four teams will qualify. Nepal will take on UAE in its last match of the Championship.
