Nepal has announced 15-member cricket squad for the upcoming Asia Cup Qualifier 2018 that is scheduled to be held in Malaysia from August 27 to September 6, 2018.
The selection committee headed by national cricket head coach Jagat Tamata and captain Paras Khadka selected 15 players along with four reserve players for the Asia Cup Qualifier.
As per the press statement issued on Saturday, August 18, 2018, the payers comprises – captain Paras Khadka, vice-captain Gyanendra Malla, Anil Kumar Sah, Basant Regmi, Binod Bhandari, Dipendra Singh Airee, Karan KC, Lalit Bhandari, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Md. Arif Sheikh, Rohit Kumar Paudel, Sagar Pun, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami and Subash Khakurel.
Similarly, reserve players are – Kishor Mahato, Pradeep Airee, Sunil Dhamala and Sushan Bhari.
The national squad will play three friendly matches against Army Cricket Team, Bloomfield and Colts during Sri Lanka tour as part of practice matches prior to Asia Cup Qualifier. The matches are scheduled for August 22, 24 and 26, respectively.
The team is scheduled to fly for Sri Lanka on August 20 and will leave for Qualifier on August 27.
Altogether six teams are competing in the Qualifier – Hong Kong, Malaysia, Nepal, Oman, Singapore and UAE.
Nepal will take on Oman in its inaugural match on August 29, UAE on August 30, Malaysia on September 1, Singapore on September 2 and Hong Kong on September 4.
