Mahendranagar United has climbed to second position in the DPL-2 point table after four wickets win against Rupandehi Challengers played at Seti Zone Police Cricket Ground in Dhangadhi on Thursday, April 5, 2018.
Mahendranagar United chased down the target of 145 runs at the end of 18th over losing its six wickets. Captain Binod Bhandari made a half-century with 61 runs while Punit Bista scored 45 runs and Puneet Mehra 16 runs for winner.
Dipesh Shresta had grabbed three wickets and Sushan Bhai took two wickets for Rupandehi Challengers.
After winning the toss, Rupandehi Challengers opted to bat first and made 144 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Pradeep Airee scored 39 runs, Sagar Pun 28 runs, Dipak Prasad 17 runs and Kushal Malla 15 runs. Punit Bista alone grabbed four wickets for winner.
With the win, Mahendranagar is in the second place with 4 points after three matches, followed by Biratnagar which has also same points. Undefeated Kathmandu Goldens is in the first place with 6 points. Rupandehi is at the bottom of the league’s table.
The United defeated Biratnagar by 33 runs and lost to Chauraha Dhangadi by eight wickets in its previous matches.
