KP Sharma Oli, 63, has been elected the 38th Prime Minister of Nepal with majority votes on Sunday, October 11, 2015.
Oli, chairman of CPN (UML) secured 338 votes of the total 587 votes cast to become the new Prime Minister of Nepal.
UCPN (Maoist), Rastriya Prajapantra Party-Nepal along with other fringe parties supported Oli in the voting system.
Oli who hails from Terathum district was elected as the parliament member from Jhapa-6 in 2013.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Oli after he won the majority votes.
