Keshav Kumar Bista has been appointed new member-secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC) on Thursday, June 25, 2015.
Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) appointed Bista NSC member-secretary for the tenure of four years. Bista was chosen the head of the sport’s governing body after the tenure of Yuvaraj Lama ended on June 12.
Similarly, Nepal Swimming Association (NSA) member Rajendra Shrestha (Raju) and All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) member Mohammad Samimullah were also appointed as NSC members.
Bista, 49, who hails from Itahari sub-metropolitan city is affiliated to CPN (UML)’s Nepal Confederation of Sports (Necos) and acting president of Nepal Sepak Takraw Association (NSTA).
Bista also served as vice-president of Sunsari District Sports Development Committee and former president of Eastern Regional Sports Development Committee.
