Nepal has made a flying start after defeating Malaysia by 34 runs in the ICC Women’s Qualifier Asia 2019 held in Thailand on Tuesday, February 19, 2019.
Malaysia was all out for 92 runs with seven wickets in allotted 20 overs against the target of 127 runs. Christina Baret scored 21 runs while Winifred Duraisingam made 18 runs and Sasha Azmi 16 runs. Karuna Bhandari and player of the match Sita Magar claimed two wickets each.
In the first inning, Sita Magar made 42 runs while skipper Rubina Chettry scored 33 runs, Kajor Shrestha 16 runs and Indu Barma 13 runs to total 126 runs for the loss of five wickets. Winifred Duraisingam, Ssha Azmi and Zumika Axmi took a wicket each.
