Nepal has defeated Bhutan 3-0 in the inaugural match of the SAFF Women’s Championship 2019 held at Sahid Rangashala, Biratnagar, on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.
Host Nepal led the match in the early 13th minute through Manjali Kumari Yonjan while Saitra Bhandari doubled the tally in the 16th minute. Niru Thapa scored additional in the 54th minute to end up with 3-0 victory.
Altogether, six teams including - Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan in Group A while India, Maldives and Sri Lanka are in Group B.
The top two teams from each Group will advance to the semi-final of the Championship. Now, Nepal will face Bangladesh on March 6, 2019.
Similarly, India and Maldives will take on each other on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
