Team Chauraha Dhangadi has clinched the title of second edition of Dhangadhi Premier League (DPL) that concluded at Seti Zone Police Cricket Ground in Dhangadhi on Friday, April 13, 2018.
Host Chauraha defeated Kathmandu Goldens by 21 runs to defend its title. With the win, Dhangadhi bagged Rs 2.5 million while runner-up Kathmandu Goldens has to satisfy for Rs 1 million.
Similarly, Mahendranagar United received Rs 300,000 as second runner-up and fourth position CYC Attariya got Rs 200,000.
Dhangadhi’s Rohan Mustafa was announced the man of the match in the final match as he claimed two wickets and scored 60 runs against Kathmandu Goldens. Mustafa also won 200CC Bajaj Motorbike with player of the tournament title.
Chauraha Dhangadhi had scored total 181 runs for the loss of four wickets after winning the toss. Sunil Dhamala made highest half-century with 78 runs.
In return, Kathmandu Goldens scored only 160 runs losing eight wickets. Amit Shrestha had scored 58 runs, Gyanendra Malla 30 runs, Sunny Patel 22 runs, Naresh Budayair 19 runs and Puspa Thapa 15 runs.
Meanwhile, Lalit Bhandari who was declared the most valuable player of the tournament grabbed three wickets for winner. Bhandari was awarded with Golden Shoes from Goldstar.
Altogether six teams including Kathmandu Goldens, Dhangadhi Team Chauhata, Mahendranagar United, CYC Attariya, Biratnagar Kings and Rupandehi Challengers – competed in the tournament.
