Central Development Region’s skipper Hasim Ansari has created a history after making a century in the final group stage match of the 1st Prime Minister Cup Cricket Tournament on Saturday, June 3, 2017.
Ansari is the only batman to score a century with 101 runs in the ongoing Prime Minister Cup Cricket. Ansari had scored 12 boundaries and a six in total 124 endeavours. He had made a half-century in 79 balls and a century in 122 balls.
Previously, the highest score was in the name of Western Region’s Saurav Khanal with 90 runs against Armed Police Force (APF).
Despite a huge contribution of Ansari, Centeal Region lost its match by six wickets against APF held today at TU International Cricket Ground. Similarly, Western Region had also lost its match against APF despite Khanal’s contribution.
APF easily chased down the target of 188 runs in the 34th overs as Anil Kumar Sah made a half-century with 78 runs while Sandeep Sunar scored 41 runs, Gyanendra Malla 28 runs and Aasif Seikh 22 runs. Central Region was all out for 187 runs in 48.3 overs. Malla alone claimed four wickets while Avinash Bohara and Bhuvan Karki took two wickets each for winner.
Central Region’s Sashi Kesari also alone grabbed three wickets for the team.
APF had entered the semi-final round as Group A winner and Western Region as runner-up while Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club made it through semis as Group B winner and runner-up respectively.
Group A - Armed Police Force (APF), Western Region, Central Region, Mid-western Region
Group B - Tribhuvan Army Club, Eastern Region, Far-western Region, Nepal Police Club
The winner of the tournament will bag Rs 2 million while the runner-up will get Rs 1 million. Similarly, the two semi-finalists will receive Rs 50,000 each.
The man of the series will be awarded with Rs 100,000 while best batsman and bowler will get Rs 50,000 each. Likewise, the emerging player will get Rs 25,000 while man-of-the-match will be given Rs 5,000 in every match.
