The government has felicitated the Nepali National Football Team for their success in the AFC Solidarity Cup 2016 on Monday, February 13, 2017.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal handed over the cash prize of Rs 300,000 each to the 23 players amidst a special function at his official residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu.
Similarly, Head Coach Gyotoku Koji and Assistant Coach Raju Kaji Shakya were also honoured with Rs 200,000 each while Goalkeeing Coach Ujjwal Manandhar and Physiotherapist Suraj Bhusal received Rs 50,000 each.
Nepal had defeated Macau 1-0 to lift the title of the Solidarity Cup held at Kuching, Malaysia in November 15, 2016. Sujal Shrestha had scored for Nepal.
It was the third consecutive international title for Nepal after Bangabandhu Gold Cup in Bangladesh and 12th South Asian Games.
