Golchha Organisation, one of the leading corporate houses, has tied up with Habitat for Humanity Nepal for a social campaign, "Ashraya", in an effort to build economical and efficient houses for the victims of the recent devastating earthquake in Nepal.
The agreement to this effect was signed between contract Almudena Bartayres, National Director, Habitat for Humanity Nepal, Rick Hathaway, Area Vice President, Asia-Pacific Office, Habitat for Humanity International, Inc., Shekhar Golchha on behalf of Hansraj Hulaschand & Co. Pvt. Ltd and Akash Golchha on behalf of GO Automobiles Pvt. Ltd.
Under the social campaign, these associations will build 1,000 houses across Nepal for the victims.
GO Automobiles Pvt. Ltd and Hansraj Hulaschand & Co have contributed over Rs 12.8 for the "Ashraya" campaign.
To start off the campaign, Habitat for Humanity Nepal is taking up a pilot project in Pipaltar VDC of Kavre district where they will be building 100 houses within 100 days.
Habitat for Humanity, working with the vision of ' A world where everyone has decent place to live', has been working in Nepal to provide shelter for homeless and disaster victims since 1997 and has served over 58,000 families so far.
The 7.9-magnitude Earthquake that shook the entire nation on April 25, 2015, has left hundreds of thousands of people homeless.
