The first edition of Women Champions League (WCL-1) is going to be held in TU International Cricket Stadium, Kirtipur, Kathmandu, from April 5 to 13, 2019.
Organising a press conference in the Capital on Thursday, February 14, 2019, organiser Queens Event Management Pvt. Ltd. has unveiled the date and venue of the WCL-1.
Citing the present achievement by men’s national cricket team in T20 and ODI, Managing Director of Queens Event Management, Chhumbi Lama, said that the main aim of organising the WCL is to develop the women’s cricket along with the men’s cricket.
The event will have the participation of five franchise teams from five different cities, informed Lama. The participating teams and prize money is yet to be fixed. The top two teams from the league will make it to the final round, according to the organiser.
With the increasing charm of cricket, Queens Event Management had also already organised first edition of Pokhara Premier League (PPL) last year, said Lama.
