Nepal and India played goalless draw in the second leg of the FIFA World Cup 2018 and 2009 AFC Asian Cup Preliminary Joint Qualification Round at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on Tuesday, March 17, 2015.
With the draw in today’s match, India has advanced to the next round with the score 2-0. India had registered 2 goals victory in the first leg of the Qualification held at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Thursday, March 12, 1015.
Despite good performances and several chances to score, Nepal failed to convert any of them into a goal. With the loss, Nepal’s hopes for the next round of the qualification ended up here.
Nepal has to at least win the match by 3-0 margin to make it to the next round.
Head coach Jack Stefanowski said though team gave their best performance, it failed to score.
Similarly, captain Sagar Thapa said despite several good attempts, we could not hit the post. “We had performed a better game compared to our first leg.”
