Kathmandu Goldens has defeated Kanchanpur ICONIC by 24 runs to registered first win at the second day of the Sagarmatha Cement Dhangadi Premier League (DPL) T-20 Cricket at SSP Ground, Dhangadhi on Tuesday, April 11, 2017.
Basanta Regmi led Kathmandu Goldens had lost to CYC Attariya by 40 runs in the inaugural match of the DPL T-20 Cricket on Monday. However, this is the second defeat for Kanchanpur ICONIC as it had lost to Rupandehi Challengers by14 runs yesterday.
After winning the toss, Kathmandu Goldens posted a target of 148 runs for the loss of seven wickets in allotted 20 overs. This is the highest target set so far in this DPL T20 as CYC Attariya had set only 147 runs in the inaugural day.
Man-of-the-Match Bhuvan Karki contributed highest 36 runs, Shubhendu Pandey 19 runs, Manjeet Shrestha 16 runs, Regmi 14 runs and Naresh Budayair 10 runs for Kathmandu Goldens. Avinash Karn had taken three wickets for Kanchanpur ICONIC.
In return, Kanchanpur ICONIC could make only 123 runs losing its nine wickets in 20 overs. Though Sagar Pun had scored 40 runs, highest in the match, went useless. Hasim Ansari scored 18 runs, Sunil Dhamala 14 runs and Karn 13 runs.
Skipper Regmi and Santosh Bhatta had taken two wickets each for winner. Similarly, Sompal Kami, Manjeet Shrestha and Sandeep Jhora also took a wicket each.
