CYC Attariya and Mahendranagar United will vie for the title of the third edition of Dhangadhi Premier League (DPL-3) at Fapla International Cricket Ground, Dhangadhi, on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
Mahendranagar United entered the final after a walkover from its opponent Kathmandu Goldens on Friday, February 22, 2019. United defeated Rupandehi Challengers by a run to enter the Qualifier 2 of the DPL-3 on Thursday.
Similarly, CYC Attariya has already advanced to the final of the league after beating Goldens by 41 runs in Qualifier 1 on Wednesday.
Kathmandu Goldens refused to play its Qualifier 2 with Mahendranagar United following the decision of the tournament technical committee against its Indian recruit Ankit Dabas. As per the video analysis by the committee, Dabas’s bowling arm action was found illegal and barred to bowl in further matches of DPL-3.
Altogether, six teams from different cities have competed in the tournament - host Dhangadhi Stars, Biratnagar Kings, Rupandehi Challengers, Mahendranagar United, CYC Attariya and Kathmandu Goldens.
The title prize money is Rs 3 million while the runner-up is Rs 1.2 million. Similarly, the third and fourth prize money is Rs 400,000 and 200,000, respectively.
Likewise, the most valuable player of the tournament will be awarded with Golden Shoe from Goldstar while the man-of-the-match of each match will be awarded with Rs 15,000.
