Biratnagar Kings has thrashed Rupandehi Challengers by 42 runs to register first win at DPL-2 held at Seti Zone Police Cricket Ground in Dhangadhi on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
Biratnagar Kings had lost to Mahendranagar United by 33 runs in its inaugural match. With the win, Paras Khadka led Kings has made an entry with 2 points in the score chart.
As Rupandehi Challengers opted to field first after winning the toss, Biranagar Kings posted the target of 182 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Man of the match Babar Hayat made a half-century with 58 runs, Dilip Nath 43 runs, Anil Sah 36 runs, skipper Khadka 22 runs and Saurav Khanal 17 runs. Sufyan Mehmood had taken two wickets for Rupandehi.
In return, Rupandehi Challengers could make only 139 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Though Pradeep Airee had made 54 runs half-century, it was not enough to beat the opponent. Dipak Prasad scored 22 runs, Sushan Bhari 21 runs and Shakti Gauchan 14 runs.
Shubham Kamat contributed three wickets claim and Ramnaresh Giri took two wickets for winner Kings.
This is the third consecutive defeat for Rupandehi as it had also lost to CYC Attariya by nine wickets and Kathmandu Goldens by 63 runs in the previous two matches.
