Australia has defeated New Zealand by seven wickets to clinch the title of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 on Sunday, March 29, 2015.
This is the fifth time that Australia has won the title in the One-day Cricket World Cup.
In the final match held at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia met the target in 33.1 overs scoring 186 runs for the loss of three wickets.
Michael Clarke and Steven Smith made half0centyrt each scoring 74 runs and 56 runs, respectively, while David Warner added 45 runs for winner.
Matt Henry claimed two wickets while Trent Boult took a wicket for New Zealand.
After winning the toss, New Zealand could make only 183 runs losing all its wickets in 45 overs. Grant Elliott had contributed 83 runs and Ross Taylor 40 runs.
Mitchell Johnson and James Faulkner grabbed three wickets each while Mitchell Starc took two wickets for Australia.
