Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) has topped the Group B with 6 points in the ongoing 1st Prime Minister Cup Cricket Tournament.
In the last group stage match held at TU Cricket Ground on Sunday, May 28, 2017, Army beat Nepal Police Club (NPC) by seven wickets top the Group B pole.
Both the teams have already advanced to the semis berth after winning third first two matches earlier. Meanwhile, Group A matches are scheduled to kick off from Monday.
Nepal Police was restricted just to 109 runs in 25.5 overs during their first inning as player of the match Sushan Bhari claimed six wickets while Sompal Kami and Sagar Pun took two wickets each. Dilip Nath had made a half-century and Dipendra Airee 22 for Police.
Army chased down the target in 30.4 overs with the loss of three wickets scoring 113 runs. Binod Bhandari contributed 46 runs and Naresh Budhayer 41 runs. Similarly, Mahesh Chhetri and Pun also scored 11 runs each for winner. Lalit Bhandari took two consolation wickets for Police.
Group A - Armed Police Force (APF), Western Region, Central Region, Mid-western Region
Group B - Tribhuvan Army Club, Eastern Region, Far-western Region, Nepal Police Club
The winner of the tournament will bag Rs 2 million while the runner-up will get Rs 1 million. Similarly, the two semi-finalists will receive Rs 50,000 each.
The man of the series will be awarded with Rs 100,000 while best batsman and bowler will get Rs 50,000 each. Likewise, the emerging player will get Rs 25,000 while man-of-the-match will be given Rs 5,000 in every match.
