Nepal Army has defended the title of the Lalit Memorial U-18 Championship for the second time on Monday, June 12, 2017.
In the final match held at the ANFA Complex, Nepal Army defeated CMG Snkata Club 1-0 to clinch the trophy. A lone score of Arik Bista in the 52nd minute of the second half proved to be match winning for Army.
Along with the trophy, Nepal Army also won a cash prize of Rs 300,000 while Sankata had to satisfy for Rs 150,000 as runner-up of the tournament.
Army’s Arpan Karki received best goalkeeper award while Dinesh Yonzon took best mid-field award, Biswas Udas best defense. Similarly, Chakta Tamang of Army also announced the best coach of the tournament. Sankata’s Dipesh Ale Magar won the best forward.
All the winners got Rs 10,000 each for their best performances in their respective positions during the tournament.
Sankata had advanced to the final after 4-2 win over Friends’ Club while Nepal Army thrashed its departmental rival Nepal Police Club 4-0 in the semis.
