Army defends title of CoAS Nat’l Men’s Volleyball

Nepal Army has defended the title of the 2nd Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) National Men’s Volleyball Tournament on Friday, January 27, 2017.

In the match held at Army Covered Hall, Lagankhel, Lalitpur, Army defeated its departmental team Nepal Police Club (NPC) 3-0 in the final match to clinch the title for the second time.

Though Army won the first two sets in competitive 25-23, 25-23, it dominated the match in third set 25-17.

On Thursday, Western Region had finished third and APF fourth at the tournament.

Host and winner Army team bagged Rs 300,000 while runner-up received Rs 150,000 and third place Rs 75,000.

Army's Man Bahadur Shrestha was adjudged the best player of the tournament.

Altogether, eight teams - three departmental teams – Army, Police, APF and five development regions - Western Region, Eastern Region, Central Region, Far-West and Mid-West were in the title fray.
